Racking protection is an ideal solution to provide additional safety measures to your warehouse storage equipment. Steel upright guards and barriers can potentially prolong the life expectancy of structural components and help prevent serious damage.
Although damage cannot be entirely avoided, we can provide preventative measures to reduce the level of damage. Of course with human error, wear and tear, racking will inevitably become damaged at some point. By installing racking protection in vulnerable areas, we can minimise the risk of accidental damage. These main areas for concern, are generally ends of aisles, i.e. End frames, corner uprights and drive through (bridge) bays.
Rack protection should be finished in a high visibility colour, such as Yellow or Orange.
Before considering whether rack protection is suitable, you or your supplier should carefully consider the following:
And one last point for you to consider. Racking protection is only a safety measure. It will not stop heavy machinery travelling at speed. Therefore, do not install guards as a replacement for driver training, reducing in house inspections or avoiding maintenance procedures.
